Fishing Report – Wednesday 24th June 2026

Reports are a bit light this week, the weather has really only just come good from Sunday and this week is much better. Still there are some notable catches around the coast and it is still  worthwhile to get out and catch a feed. Whiting, Salmon and School Sharks are the most common catch right now but Flathead and Garfish are also well worth a trip out for.

Here’s what has been biting this week.

Elliston

Talia and Locks Well have had the best reports for Salmon during the last week, there are Salmon to 3kg here at these beaches. Talia also has some Flathead which have picked up as bycatch fishing for salmon. Sheringa also has Salmon not in the numbers just yet and at night there are School Sharks here and the fishing is quite consistent by the sounds of it. Most of these beaches also have Tommies, Mullet and a few Flathead.

Boat news has been very quiet but further up the coast towards Ceduna, most good surf beaches have Salmon, School or Gummy Sharks also. Most of the bays between Streaky and Ceduna also have Whiting, Garfish, Snook and Squid for boat and land-based fishers. Not much other news from the west.

Coffin Bay

Not much different from last week but still very good for fishing. There’s been some decent reports for Whiting within the bays, Flathead are still being caught, Salmon Trout and Tommies are also out there being the main fish which have been caught over the last week within the bays. Gummy Sharks should also be around for the night time fishers but we haven’t had any reports for a few weeks now of any Gummies.

Farm Beach is going well for Whiting and most of the major grounds have Whiting and there shouldn’t be any problems finding fish out there. Z-Man worms and the Vexed Micro Meat Jigs are working well on the Whiting in this area. There hasn’t been much other boat news but there would be some good offshore fishing now the weather has calmed down a bit. Nannygai, Blue Morwong and School Sharks have been the main catch offshore.

Flathead are still in good numbers in the national park and around Frenchman’s, Coles Point  and Gallipoli. There’s still some good fish being taken and the best plastics to cast for the Flathead are the Arma Paddle Tails, Jackson Bone Baits and Daiwa Bait Junkies and pink in colour seems to be the go.

Salmon can be caught mostly at Greenly Beach, that’s where the best reports have come from but it’s still well worth trying Gunyah and Almonta. This year School Sharks are really going well like they were a few years ago and reports from many areas within the national park and from Frenchmans to Point Drummond off of the rocks and beaches there seems to be Schools Sharks everywhere. There’s some decent ones to well over 20kg that have been caught, well worth trying something different if you haven’t done it before.

Port Lincoln

Whiting have been caught off of rocks at Tulka and the North Shore and some decent sized fish in reasonable numbers, late afternoons and into the night are the best times. Boat fishers are also finding some decent Whiting in the Proper and North Shore. Garfish are also schooled up along the North Shore and around Boston Island. Salmon Trout can be caught easily trolling Daiwa Double Clutch lures around the shipyard and there is plenty there.

Further down the coast Whiting can be caught from Carcase Rocks right down to Thistle Island on all the Whiting grounds, there are some good fish down there. Offshore those with Vexed Bottom Meat Jigs will be able to catch some decent size Nannygai and Blue Morwong on the offshore reefs out from Williams Island and you might also find a Samson fish or two. There’s plenty of sea life out with better bait schools, dolphin and bird numbers so hopefully the big Tuna are there or not to far away.

Salmon are plentiful along Sleaford coast and there’s some good schools of fish down there and lure fishing has been the most effective way of fishing for them. Buku Flutter Bombs, Jabbers Moxie Metals and the Arma Flash Harrys are excellent for the Salmon a dn they are a decent size 3kg or better.

Tumby Bay/ Port Neill/ Arno Bay

Not too much news this week really only from Tumby with Whiting and Snook reports within the bay and south of Tumby. The Group should be firing now and with the better weather now is time to head out there and give it a crack. Port Neill and Arno should also be excellent.
