Fishing Report – Wednesday 4th November 2026

The weather hasn’t been great but there are a few days when you can still head out and get into some good fishing. There’s still plenty of reports coming in through the store, some are really good but there are also some average ones. It is now “Blowvember” a notorious windy month, but lets see what happens on the wind front. It doesn’t matter how hard the wind blows there is still somewhere good to fish on the west coast.

Here’s what has been biting.

Elliston

There are a few Squid reports from the jetty when the water is clear and there’s also Garfish and Tommies here. The shallower beaches do have some Whiting and there’s still the odd Flathead being caught around Elliston. Salmon are available from the surf beaches in the area and Sharks as well.

Streaky Bay is pretty good for Squid from what we have been hearing and around Eba Island is a pretty good spot. There’s also Salmon from the surf beaches around Streaky and some big Bronze Whaler Sharks aren’t too far away from the Salmon schools. Further up the coast Mulloway reports have been a bit slow for the big ones but there are lots of undersized and a few in the 80-100cm mark. Salmon have been reported in good numbers at Yalata and mixed at other beaches. Bronze Whaler Sharks can be a real nuisance at some areas with quite a few reported from Tuckermore and the beaches around Fowlers Bay. The jetty at Fowlers has been good for big Squid, Tommies, Garfish and some Snook.

Coffin Bay

Garfish have been a bit slower this week but there are Whiting, Tommies, Salmon Trout and some Snook, try trolling around and if you are shore based Daiwa Double Clutch lures will get you hooked up to the Salmon Trout and Snook. Gummy Sharks are biting at night around the bays but you will have to sift through the Eagle Rays. A good idea is to use circle hooks here as you have a better chance of getting your hook back if the Rays are a problem. You can also try the Vexed Dingle Dangles which will keep your bait of the bottom, making harder for the rays but not hard for the Gummy Sharks.

Farm Beach reports have been good again with plenty of Whiting around and there seems to be good reports from most areas out of Farm Beach. There should be good numbers of Garfish here now.

Offshore there’s only been a few reports as the weather hasn’t been the best. Nannygai have been in good numbers and there are a few good Blue Morwong and School Sharks. Most crews have been catching at least one School Shark, sometimes 6 or more depending on where you fish.

For Salmon this week  we have only had reports from Gunyah and Almonta. Nothing spectacular but there are Salmon here taking baits and lures.

Port Lincoln

Fishing off of the jetties has slowed down around Port Lincoln. There are still Whiting around of off the town jetty and main wharf but big Tommies and Salmon Trout seem much more reliable. There are better numbers of Garfish around now off of the jetties also. There’s plenty of rock areas around town and within the national park that have Garfish and some decent sized Tommies also.

For boat fishers the news has been slower also but there are some decent numbers Whiting around. The North Shore to Boston Island and Spalding Cove seem to be the best areas, but they can be caught just about everywhere, but numbers and size does vary. Garfish are better and there are some monster Tommies also around. Perfect size the Hark smoker. Snook can also be trolled for up and around the bays.

Down the coast Whiting also have been active around Taylors and Thistle Island but only a few reports from down that way. There’s been nothing from offshore this week but with some better weather this week there’s sure to be Nannygai, Blue Morwong and Sharks.

For Salmon the Sleaford Coast continues to fire for plenty of Salmon with some decent sized schools down there. Lure fishing is best where there is a school of Salmon in close with the Jackson Metal Effects, Arma Flash Harrys and the Buku Flutter Bombs probably the best Salmon lures. Big Bronze Whaler Sharks are also not too far away from these schools of Salmon if your after something a bit bigger.

Tumby Bay

Fishing here has been good with some decent Whiting reports. The best Whiting reports have come from the Group. There’s been some good reports with some really good-sized fish, some close to the 50cm mark. Snook, Trevally and Garfish are also well worth the trip for and there’s been good fishing for those fish also. In closer the fishing for Whiting has also been quite good with a few solid reports from the northen grounds and there are also some really good Garfish and Snook numbers from the areas south of Tumby to Bolingbroke. Land-based reports haven’t been as good this week.

Port Neill and Arno Bay

Yellowfin Whiting reports are better each week with some decent fish fairly well established at Port Neill now. Arno Bay would also have some decent Yellowfin Whiting. Garfish can be caught off of the rocks and jetty around Port Neill. Boat fishers are finding some good Whiting at Arno, many caught using the Vexed Mirco Meat jigs designed for King George Whiting.

Port Neill also has some decent reports and there’s Snook and Garfish here also biting well.
